Jeepspeed - Home of the General Tire Jeepspeed Challenge Presented By ATX Wheels

After attending the 2000 Dakar Rally we returned with the concept of an affordable off road race & rally type class here in the United States. With Dakar suspension wheel travel limits but using American built Jeep vehicles, Jeepspeed was born.

The 1^st race took place in 2001 and attracted well known off road personalities such as the Currie family, Ryan Wallace of Rubicon Express, Skyjacker Suspensions, and the Barnett Brothers of T&J Performance. Together with numerous Jeep enthusiasts, we could finally go desert racing with our Jeeps!

The Jeepspeed class was an immediate success. By 2003, Jeepspeed had issued 50 race team numbers and regularly had 20 Jeeps entered at each event. In 2008, there was an impressive turnout of 35 Jeepspeed teams racing in the Best in the Desert Parker 425!

NOT A SPEC CLASS!

With Jeepspeed, you are free to build your own Jeep within your budget and under our rules. Unlike the more expensive spec classes that have come along since Jeepspeed was started over 10 years ago, you do not have to purchase your race car and parts from the class organizers for $50,000-$150,000. You are free to enjoy the build process and build your own unique race Jeep where any 6 cylinder Jeep model may be used. With 20-30 similar race cars on the starting line, Jeepspeed offers the most competitive and closest racing in off road today.

You can continually experiment and upgrade to improve your vehicle’s performance. Jeepspeed mandates the wheelbase, vehicle width, suspension travel, engine capacity, fuel octane, and tire sizes. You may use any aftermarket suspension system that is approved by Jeepspeed. We do this to keep big budget teams from coming in and pricing everyone else out of the class.

If more power, faster speeds, bigger budgets, and more open rules are what you’re looking for we have the Jeepspeed Cup class (3700). We currently have 12 registered Cup class teams.
